To create an open environment for entertaining by opening up the dining room wall so to be able to accommodate 2 cooks while having guests able to mingle between the kitchen and dining rooms.
The over-sized island creates a grand space where guests can mingle without impeding the chefs, who on the other side of the island, enjoy all the perks. These homeowners pulled out all the stops with high end appliance choices, a medley of top quality selections – ALL hidden within cabinetry faces. The 123″ span of black and white granite countertop is a show-stopping work of art, but there is also a surprise – hidden in a section of the high contrast cabinetry is a bar worthy of Bond himself that rises to expose a treasured collection of spirits.
Combining traditional and modern, the mirrored mullion cabinet doors are an unusual creative application, interspersed as focal points within the alternating high contrast black and white custom cabinetry. The cobra textured tiles create texture in the space while complimenting the cabinetry.
One large fridge and a double drawer set fridge and freezer makes the space efficient . This kitchen was designed for entertaining and holding large family gatherings. Large apron sink and smaller sink on the island is efficient, allowing prep areas for 2 cooks.
The flowing black and white granite counter top on the island is an impressive work of art and complements the black granite counters under the cabinets along the walls. The island view from the dining room was designed to be seen more as a piece of furniture as it stands on legs and has ambient underfoot lighting. The adjoining dining room holds a custom built table that can comfortably accommodate 16 people. This isn’t just a kitchen, but a gathering place.
